Child Care Mandated Reporter: AB 1207 (CA)

This course provides staff with an overview of law regarding the mandated reporting of child abuse, including who must report and reporting requirements. We also provide indicators and definitions of various forms of child abuse, the impact of abuse on children and child protection. The content in this course was designed with care and sensitivity; however, some may find certain topics personally upsetting, especially for survivors of sexual abuse or assault. Diane Cranley is the author of 8 Ways to Create their Fate: Protecting the Sexual Innocence of Children in Youth-Serving Organizations and a child sexual abuse prevention consultant. Diane guides school district leaders to create an environment where child molesters virtually cannot succeed without being caught and therefore won’t want to work. She is also the Founder and President of TAALK (Talk About Abuse to Liberate Kids), a federally approved, nonprofit agency dedicated to breaking the silence that surrounds child sexual abuse. Diane is working with insurers, JPAs, County Departments of Education, and school districts to create a brighter and safer tomorrow for our children.
