Concussion Awareness: Athletics (Max's Law) (OR)

The goal of this course is to familiarize employees and volunteers that may work in youth athletics with concussion dangers – as well as to suggest smart policies to minimize concussion risks and ensure proper care for student athletes. We'll learn to understand what a concussion is, and why it’s such a serious injury; signs and symptoms of concussions; and smart policies and procedures if you suspect a student athlete has a concussion.

Brent George, MPT, founded G2 Sports Therapy in 1997 and is now the Regional Vice President for Drayer Physical Therapy Institute. Brent has served as a consultant to numerous high school, collegiate and professional athletic programs – including the University of Washington, Seattle Seahawks (football) and Seattle Mariners (baseball.) For the past 10 years, Brent has been a part-time instructor at the University of Puget Sound’s Physical Therapy School. He is a faculty member for Complete Athlete and has conducted countless seminars on injury prevention, biomechanical analysis and functional exercise, including for the Washington Interscholastic Activities Association.
